A Brief Description of Cinco de Mayo!

Cinco de Mayo - a brief history

Hello! Butterfly15Editor here! I shall be doing a brief explanation of what Cinco de Mayo is! So, continue reading for more! 😉

Cinco de Mayo is a celebration held on May 5th. The celebration is used to commemorate the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is sometimes (more like most of the time) mistaken to be Mexico’s Independence Day, the most important national holiday in Mexico, which is actually celebrated on September 16.

It is an annual holiday, that is multi-national. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated by parades, food, music, folkloric dancing, etc. Cinco de Mayo is mainly celebrated by Mexicans, but also many other nations celebrate it as well.

I hope that this explains enough that you will understand what Cinco de Mayo is! Have a wondeful day!
